We see a variety of customers of all types of businesses in their home environment. They are discussing the marketing communications they've received and how they have reacted.
"This is a letter from Scottish Widow. I wasn't expecting it, and I was very pleased to receive it because when I opened it, it was actually a thank you for taking out new business with them and most people these days you don't get thank you letters for doing business, they just assume it's business; you've done it and that's it. So it was quite a nice surprise."
"When I got the DVD, it was a bit of a surprise, I wasn't expecting it for starters and you know it was something sort of hard, you know in a letter, it's not your usual sort of thing - it's got a bit of substance to it. Yeah it's surprising I suppose. It made me go on the website, it's something like a little gift, and it makes you feel wanted as a customer."
"It's a complimentary valet, from Mercedes Benz. At the time the car was fairly new so it didn't need valeting, but it's probably due now to have a good clean. I was pleased when I received it. I was like, "that's nice", and "I'll use that" and I actually wrote on it straight away so I'd know what it was. It's nice you give something back to your customers and I thought it was a nice gesture."
"Every so often Abbey will send me a little key ring or a little postcard and I think that is quite nice. As it's not anything to do with the bank, they've sent you almost like a nice little free present, which I can either reuse or not - kind of gives them a good reputation I thought."
"So when you do get a bit of mail you think "oh that's quite cool, yeah"."
"I'm quite disappointed if I don't receive mail."
"I absolutely love it when some mail comes through, I love it, I absolutely love it!"
"It's kind of like a service that is coming to you, so yeah you do get a bit excited."
